Wild Atlantic Sports - Wild Coast & Country Tour

Wild Atlantic Sports

Cycle from Kinsale to Clonakilty along the coastal route of the Wild Atlantic Way. Stay overnight in a country B&B in Clonakilty and cycle back the next day following a GPS guided route taking you through the beautiful Irish countryside. You'll have plenty of time to enjoy the area!

Day 1 (43km + 5km optional detour)
We'll meet you in Kinsale and get you set up with bikes, helmets etc. At the same time, we'll pick up your bags so they can be delivered to your B&B for the night, leaving you free to cycle along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way. On the way to Clonakilty, your destination, enjoy the stunning coastal views from the Old Head of Kinsale, Coolmaine Beach and Timoleague Abbey. There's even an optional detour to Kilbrittain where you can pop into the local park to view the skeleton of a whale or if history is more your thing, you can visit the Michael Collins CentreStay overnight in the Macliam Lodge B&B in Clonakilty, where Maeve, your host, will greet you with a warm Irish 'failte' or welcome. Why not enjoy a pint of Guinness and find some live Irish music in a local pub that evening?
Day 2 (53km + 10km optional detour)
After a hearty Irish breakfast at the B&B, you have an optional cycle to Inchadoney Beach (10km roundtrip) or alternatively, spend some time exploring Clonakility. Then, it's time to cycle back to Kinsale, following a pre-programmed route which takes in the best spots - the scenic countryside of the Seven Heads peninsula including dramatic Dunworley Cove. Stop for a delicious lunch in Courtmacsherry (we know a great spot!). Continue cycling through the quaint town of Ballinspittle (another great stop for coffee and baked goods) and past the 'moving statue' in the grotto which caused a national stir in the 80s. We'll meet you in Kinsale, to return your luggage, collect the bikes etc. and enjoy the stories of your adventures!
