iSurfIreland Surf School - Surfing and Bodyboarding Lessons
Our surfing and bodyboarding lessons begin with a meet and greet in Strandhill Beach car park where you will be met by your friendly and engaging iSurfIreland instructors. Next, all customers sign our surf lesson forms (for U18s, parent/guardian signature required) before being sized up for a wetsuit. You will be shown to the adjacent County Sligo Surf Club changing rooms to get changed. After this, you will be given your board and taken to the beach to begin the lesson.
All lessons begin with a beach safety talk given by your instructor. After you have completed a few land drills you enter the water in the company of your instructor. Lessons take place in waist depth water on a specific area of the beach your instructor has deems suitable. The rest of the session involves putting what you have learned on the beach into practice, being coached by your instructor and simply catching waves and having fun.
iSurfIreland is the only surf school in Sligo equipped to give professional bodyboard lessons. Plus, our bodyboard coach is Seamus Mc Goldrick, Ireland's most well known big wave bodyboarder and Irish national team coach.
U 18 Surf Camps:
Our popular iSurfIreland Summer S'Cool camps are available June, July and August and during mid-terms and school holidays. Our Monday to Friday package includes surfing and bodyboarding, beach games, eco-walks, water safety and ocean awareness and, of course, lots of fun in the ocean.
Head instructors Seamus or Eddie personally supervise S'Cool camps all summer long. Seamus and Eddie are two local surfers and have been surfing Strandhill their entire lives. They have expert knowledge of the area and its changing conditions and have over twelve years experience in surf coaching between them.
