  • 07:15am: Our full day tour offers you more FREE time of the bus to relax and experience the old way of life in rural rugged Connemara. This tour travels along the shores of Galway bay stopping at Spiddal fishing village and a 2 hour relaxing stop at Kylemore Abbey & gardens. Returning to Galway via Cong & the Quiet Man at 17:15approx there is 1 hour free time around Medieval Galway City before returning back to Dublin City 21:15pm approx.
  • 09:15am: Our new Direct Non-stop Day Tour to Connemara, Kylemore Abbey & Cong village. After returning from Connemara there is also 1 hour free time to explore Galway City. Tour returns back to Dublin City 21:15pm approx.

This tour has the following highlights

Spiddal - A small fishing village, renowned for its blue flag beach & angling Spiddal Craft village offers people the opportunity to buy handmade gifts directly from Artisans themselves. Located just 12 miles of Galway City, people still speak both Irish & English today.

Connemara - One of the largest Gaeltacht speaking regions in the West Of Ireland. It comprises of some 250km square miles extending west into Connaught. Famous for its unique landscape of blanket bog.

Replica of Quiet Man Cottage - See the famous Quiet Man bridge and hear more about the Quiet man movie directed by John B Keane starring John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara.

Inagh & Maam Valleys - Referred by many famous Irish writers such as Oscar Wild and Patrick Kavanagh as areas of scenic & unsurpassed beauty. See turf cutting in the valleys & sheep roaming the roadside. The only traffic delays you will encounter!!!

Kylemore Abbey & Gardens - A 2hour stop with opportunity to have lunch in the Mitchell restaurant. This castle was built out of love, an enchanted fairy tale castle with magical looks & walks through the Kylemore wooded heartland. Home to the Benedictian order of Nuns, Kylemore Abbey is a secret haven of peace & tranquillity.

Killary Fjord - Some 250 metres wide and 10 miles long, Killary is one of 3 glacier fjords that exist in Ireland, it is 9 miles deep offering diving throughout the year while aquaculture is important here locally with salmon rafts visible on the surface. Also an opportunity to take the Killary sea cruise vessel on its waters during the summer season.

Leenane - Nestled in between the Mweelrea & Maamturk mountains it lies snugly situated at the head of Killary harbour. Here the film adaptation of John B Keanes famous play The FIELD directed by Jim Sheridan was made in 1989. An opportunity to visit Gaynors bar for a real Irish pint and see some real Connemara characters at the bar!!!

Lough Corrib - Some 33 miles long it is one of 14 fresh water trout lakes found in Europe. Reputed to have 365 islands comprising of 44000 hectares of wetland . It is considered one of the best fishing lakes in Europe and is home to a variety of fresh water fish including brown trout, pike, perch, and roach. Also attracts salmon and eels from the Atlantic Ocean.

Cong Home one of Irelands finest hotels Ashford castle is also home to Cong Abbey  and was the location of the famous Quiet Man movie.

The Dublin Tours Bus tour travels the scenic R336 coast road along the coast of Galway bay. One can see across the bay the Burren and the Aran islands unfold. Our first stop is in the quaint fishing village of Spiddal often refered to as the 'Gateway to the Gaeltacht' to photo The Burren mountains, Galway Bay & the Aran Islands. Then the tour heads down to the Deserted famine village, an area heavily populated before the Great Famine. Travelling through the Connemara rugged landscape, the stacks of turf, the Connemara ponies and the old thatch cottages begin to unfold. Stopping at Maamcross, the replica of "The Quiet Man cottage" unfolds starring John Wayne was filmed near here. This is also a coffee stop on the tour.
Now the wild beauty of Connemara unfolds as mountains start to rise and there are vast open breath taking spaces in the Maam Valley, a spectacular region that divides up the Maamturk mountains of Connemara. Dropping down into the village of Leenane where the film "The Field" directed by John B. Keane was filmed, Killary Fjord (Ireland's only fjord) unfolds. Here it is visible to see the salmon and mussel pots floating on the surface of the water where the fish are farmed here. The highlight of the tour Kylemore Abbey & Gardens is a guaranteed 2 hour stop where one can absorb the tranquil atmosphere while walking in one of Ireland's most peaceful scenic areas. This is also the lunch stop on the tour.
Returning back to Galway by the Inagh Valley an area of scenic and unsurpassed beauty, the lakes of Inagh which are rich for fishing begin to unfold in amongst the twelve Bens mountains. Travelling back along the main N59 Galway to Clifden road, the tour follows the leafy banks of Lough Corrib along by the village of Oughterard, often referred to as "the gateway to Connemara" arriving back in Galway at 5:15pm approx with 1 hour free time around the Medieval City before boarding the 18:45pm Gobus back to Dublin. A tour that must be taken to see one of the West of Ireland's most scenic regions!
